Paid Promotions Policy

Last updated: July 23, 2026

Global Securities News (GSN) occasionally publishes sponsored content alongside our independent reporting. This policy explains what sponsored content is, how it is labeled, and how it is kept separate from the editorial journalism our readers rely on.

What Counts as Sponsored Content

A “sponsored article” or “paid promotion” is any article that a sponsor has commissioned and paid GSN to publish. Sponsored content is always:

If an article does not carry a “Sponsored” badge and disclosure notice, it is independent editorial content, not a paid promotion.

Sponsored Content Is Not Independent Journalism

Sponsored articles are written, provided, or directed by the sponsor (sometimes with GSN’s commercial content team assisting on production), and are not written by GSN’s editorial staff. Sponsored content:

We never present sponsored content as though it were independently reported news, and we do not allow sponsors to imply GSN endorsement of their products or securities.

Separation Between Advertising and Editorial (“Church and State”)

GSN maintains a firm separation between the team that sells and arranges sponsorships and the team that reports the news:

This separation exists to protect the independence and credibility of GSN’s newsroom, and it applies regardless of the size or importance of any advertising relationship.

How This Differs From Other Ad Formats

GSN uses several advertising formats, and sponsored content is only one of them:

  1. Display advertising — banner, sidebar, and in-article ads served by our ad network (Google Ad Manager). These are visually distinct ad units, not articles, and are not written or influenced by GSN. See our Advertising Disclosure.
  2. Native content-recommendation widgets — third-party “you may also like” or “around the web” links shown at the end of articles. These link to content from other publishers and are not sponsored articles produced for GSN. Also covered in our Advertising Disclosure.
  3. Affiliate links — links within ordinary editorial articles that may earn GSN a commission if a reader clicks through and takes an action with a financial product, service, or brokerage. These appear within independently reported articles rather than as standalone sponsored articles. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
  4. Sponsored articles, as described in this policy, are distinct from all of the above: they are whole articles commissioned by a specific sponsor, always carrying a “Sponsored” badge and named disclosure.

No Investment Advice

Nothing in a sponsored article, regardless of format, constitutes personalized investment, legal, or tax advice from GSN. Sponsored content should be evaluated with the same care a reader would apply to any promotional material, and readers should consult a licensed professional before making financial decisions.
