Global Securities News is published by RICHPORT MEDIA INC. We work with a small number of Contributing Editors, each responsible for one of the regions we cover. This page describes the role and how to apply.

Contributing Editor, by region

A Contributing Editor is an independent contractor, not an employee. Each editor covers a region: North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, South America or Oceania. The work has three parts.

Review. You read the articles in your region against their sources: the filings, exchange notices and company releases listed with each piece. Every material claim, figure and quotation has to be supported by a document a reader can open. Where it is not, you correct it or hold the piece.

Write. You contribute your own reading of the news in your region: what an announcement does and does not settle, how it fits the company’s story, and what a careful reader should ask next. The insight and the opinion are yours, published under your name, and grounded in the documents you cite.

Own the beat. Over time you become the site’s voice on that region: its exchanges, its disclosure customs, the companies that matter there and the ones that do not yet.

Credit and listing

Editors are credited under their professional name. Our masthead at Contributing Editors lists each editor with their region, a short biography and a link to their professional profile.

Listing is by consent. Nothing about you appears on the site until you have confirmed in writing that you agree to be listed publicly in that role, with the bio text and photograph you have approved. You approve any later change to either, and if you ask to be delisted, your entry is removed.

Who we are looking for

People with genuine experience of securities, markets or financial regulation in a region we cover, who write clearly and make sure that every claim they publish is supported by a citation.
