A group of U.S. regional lenders priced an upsized five-year senior unsecured note offering on Thursday, taking advantage of firm investor demand for bank credit even as spreads have tightened from earlier in the year.

Books were more than three times oversubscribed at initial price talk, allowing the joint bookrunners to tighten pricing by roughly 15 basis points from initial guidance before the deal was upsized and allocated.

Why It Matters

The offering is among the largest regional-bank benchmark deals of the year and will be closely watched as a read on investor confidence in mid-sized lenders following several quarters of deposit-stability concerns.

Use of Proceeds

Proceeds are expected to be used for general corporate purposes, including the refinancing of shorter-dated maturities coming due later this year.
